SnaffleUp is a service that promotes the recycling of unwanted but still useful items. We make it simple for you to donate the stuff that is cluttering up your home rather than throw it away. This makes a small but crucial difference to the environment by reducing the growing problem of landfill.
The SnaffleUp website also makes it simple for you to find useful items in your area for free. Search for a particular item in your area or browse what’s on offer by category – you can even get emails when something you’re on the lookout for becomes available. Not only do you get free stuff, you too are doing your bit to help environmental waste by recycling second-hand items.

Donating items: If you have an item you no longer need that’s still in good shape, why not save it from landfill by giving it to a new owner. Simply Sign up or Login at the SnaffleUp website, click Get ‘Rid of Stuff’, enter a few words describing the item > click ‘Save’. It’s a good idea to provide a picture as well as describe the item as fully as possible – this helps people find it during their search. If someone likes the item, they will contact you via the email of your choice to arrange collection.
Finding items: Use SnaffleUp to find a specific item in your area for free. Simply type-in your postcode and the item you’re looking in the keyword box at the top of the page. Or, if you fancy a browse of what’s on offer, search the categories in the menu to your left. Each item you select comes with a map of where it’s located (to keep collection fees at a minimum) and an easy way to contact the owner.
Arranging collection: Once you’ve found an item you want, you simply send a quick email to the person donating the item to arrange for collection (any postage fees will generally be payable by you).

People donate items because they no longer find them useful, so it’s unlikely they will want you to return them. If you no longer want the item and it’s still useful, why not continue making a difference in reducing the landfill problem by donating it yourself for recycling on the SnaffleUp website.

SnaffleUp believe there are too many potentially useful items going to landfill every minute in the UK, creating a growing waste problem which harms the environment we live in. The more people get involved in recycling, the more we can make a difference – small efforts can accumulate to become big achievements!

If you get a message saying the item is unavailable it is because the member has removed the item. This is probably because the item has been taken or recieved lots of interest. Removing the item saves you time by preventing other members contacting you about items that are already taken.

The web-site was not set up for the purpose of generating a profit and at this stage the advertising revenue does not cover the costs involved in running the site.
If, in the future, this situation changes any extra money raised will be put back into improving the website and supporting the members or donated to charity.
